Who is Alan Roura:
At the age of 23, he became the youngest sailor to complete the Vendée Globe, a solo race around the world, non-stop and without assistance. On board one of the oldest boats in the fleet and with one of the lowest budgets, he finished in a magnificent twelfth place, ahead of some machines much more recent than his own. Having become the idol of the media and the public, he leaves for 4 years of preparation for the next edition of the "Everest of the Seas" at the controls of a boat of a more recent generation, which will leave on November 8, 2020.
How it all began:
At the age of two, he moved with his family on a motorboat to the Port Noir in Geneva. In 2001, it is on a sailboat of 13 meters that they went on a trip around the world. The trip will last eleven years. At the age of 13, Alan stopped school to work with his father and bought his first boat, a Mini 6.50 that he completely renovated. At age 20, he finished eleventh in the 2013 Mini Transat, at 21 he took the start of the 2014 Route du Rhum and finished, a year later, in tenth position of the Transat Jacques Vabre.
